IMS / Dry Needling

Dry Needling (DN)

Dry Needling is a skilled intervention that uses a thin sterilized needle to penetrate the skin and stimulate underlying myofascial trigger points, muscle, and connective tissues for the management of pain and loss of range of motion, improvement of circulation, and promotion of healing.

All of our therapists that include this treatment in their practice have undergone extensive training and examinations for this technique.

Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS)

IMS is a dry needling technique used to target neuropathic pain and muscle dysfunction. This treatment technique requires special training, where your therapist will insert a thin sterilized needle to penetrate deep into the muscle tissue or close to the spine, specifically targeting involved muscles.

If you are specifically looking for IMS, your session will start with a thorough assessment to evaluate the appropriateness of treatment, followed by education, post-care instructions (if IMS is appropriate and used during the session), and an evidence-guided treatment plan.
